Early insights from year 2 creative sessions with children and young people

Launched in August 2026, the below video research report shares Coram’s early insights from a co-produced evaluation of the AllChild programme in the Wigan area. The report identifies the key building blocks of trusted relationships between children and young people and Link Workers, and the connection between these relationships and positive outcomes.

This analysis highlights the value of safety, care, reliability, encouragement, understanding, and respect as core components of building trusted relationships.

Early findings suggest that:

  • Supportive, caring, and dependable relationships with Link Workers appear to strengthen young people’s self-worth.
  • Encouragement from Link Workers supports greater confidence and aspirations.
  • Safe, honest relationships and improving access to support appear to contribute to improvements in behaviour.
  • Feeling listened to, respected, and understood as well as the Link Worker investing time may support young people to feel comfortable to engage more openly and share challenges.
