Our story

Together, every child and young person can flourish

AllChild was created from a shared belief that every child and young person should have the chance to flourish - no matter the challenges they face. Families, charities, local government and schools came together because they recognised the same experience across their communities. Everyone knew a child who might have taken a different path if they had been able to access the right opportunities and support earlier.

How we began

Our founders recognised that the issues they were trying to address also existed back home – children and young people, at the tipping point of risk, falling through the gaps of a fragmented system.

Originally set up as West London Zone, the AllChild programme is designed in each new place in deep consultation with schools, families and community leaders, ensuring a bottom-up solution to local challenges.

Where we are now

Ten years on from small beginnings in a community centre in White City, we are now a nationally recognised charity, yet still local in every place we work. Our innovative approach to preventative services and new way of investing in children’s futures can now be adopted by national, regional and local government, and communities around the UK.

Our origins

AllChild took inspiration from Harlem Children’s Zone in New York, a community organisation with a different way of working – aiming for long term change in disadvantaged communities as well as better outcomes with individual children at risk.
9,000

children and young people have completed our two‑year Impact Programme.

75

schools in London and the North West working with AllChild to deliver the programme in 15 communities.

50+

growing network of Delivery Partners, strengthening place‑based support for children and young people.

Our work is grounded in three values that guide how we think, work and build relationships

We have learned that we can break down barriers, reduce complexity and streamline support for families... so their children can access the support and opportunities they need to flourish.
